Centennial Soul Celebration / Fox Theatre / Feb 10 / 7-10pm

Crystal Stark will be a featured performer at the Arizona Centennial Soul Celebration – A Celebration of African-American Music and Culture produced by the Southwest Soul Circuit. This event kicks off a weekend of events sponsored by the AZ Centennial Commission. The concert will feature a variety of music, dance, and poetry by local soul artists and is guaranteed to leave you feeling inspired.

Gold & Pearl Valentine’s Dinner

This is a special Valentines evening of romance and elegance strictly for married couples. The stage will be set at the Viscount Suites Hotel from 6:30 – 9:30pm under an atrium of ambiance.  Special entertainment guest CRYSTAL STARK will set the mood by singing love songs old and new. Event includes dinner, drinks, and dessert as well as a take home gift for each couple.

Proceeds will go towards the restoration of local families through an organization called Local Community Advancement Inc.; a non profit organization that is creating ways to enhance lives.

Biography

Crystal Rose Stark is a rising pop/R&B singer who brings a positive message to today’s music scene. Based on her church-singing roots, she knew that she wanted to pursue a full-time career in music. Crystal attended the University of Arizona where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education.

Crystal has made a name for herself in Tucson by fronting various jazz, soul, funk, and r&b groups, as well as being a featured jazz artist with the Tucson Jazz Society. She is also frequently asked to minister in song to various churches throughout the nation.

Crystal added AMERICAN IDOL FINALIST to her list of accomplishments when she tried out for the show during season 5. She made it to the top 44 contestants out of the100,000 that tried out across the country. The exposure from being on the show opened many opportunities for Crystal. She sang back-up on tour with American Idol runner-up Katharine Mcphee on shows such as Jay Leno, Regis & Kelly, and The Today Show. She also worked as a DJ for the popular local radio station Mega Oldies 106.3, and was a TV host for the local television station “My Tucson TV 18.”

In the summer of 2006, Crystal entered the gospel music competition, “Music in the Rockies” where she won first place “Best of Show” and was asked to perform at Disney World’s “Night of Joy” alongside Christian artists such as Kirk Franklin, Rebecca St. James, and Mercy Me. Crystal also won a recording opportunity with Indelible Creative Group in Nashville Tennessee where she recorded the track “Leave Everything Behind” which was featured on the top Indie Christian Artists of 2008” CD.

Crystal can be seen around Tucson performing concerts with the Tucson Jazz Society, the fabulous “Triple Threat” vocal trio, and her unforgettable jazz/soul/r&b group “The Crystal Stark Quintet.” She also serves as the music director of her church and teaches voice & piano lessons at her home studio.
